Sandra McLellan as Lettie May Smartly

Sandra McLellan, who brilliantly portrays Lettie May Smartly in the comedy TV series The Smartlys, was recently interviewed by Susan J. Farese of SJF Communications. 

SJF: Tell us about your character in The Smartlys   

SM:  Lettie May is the heart of the family, always ready for a laugh and some fun. Living in La Jolla is a dream come true for her, as it brings her close to her favorite animals—the seals, whom she often visits and studies with fascination.

Though she doesn't openly discuss it, Lettie deeply misses her mom and is haunted by the mystery of her disappearance. Deep down, she believes her mom is with aliens, a secret she keeps to herself.

SJF: What are 3 things about you we don't know about 'you'…(not your character)!  

SM: See below:  

1) Sandra is a proud lefty!  

2) Sandra is an excellent natural artist. Since before Kindergarten, she has been drawing pictures better than her dad.    

3) Sandra's favorite actress is Dove Cameron, star of Disney's 'Descendants' and 'Liv and Matty'. Cameron is an inspiration for Sandra's desire to pursue acting.   

SJF: What compelled you to audition for 'The Smartlys'?   

SM:  When my dad, Dan McLellan (who plays Fetch Worthington Smartly), found out he had been cast as Fetch, he immediately thought of me for the role of his daughter. He called and asked if I wanted to audition, knowing I’d be perfect for the part. 

SJF: Words of wisdom/advice for actors?  

SM:  Just be yourself and have fun! Despite having no formal training, I’ve been lucky enough to join the cast of The Smartlys, land commercial print work, and I recently secured a role in my first film. 

SJF: How can we follow you on social media?   

SM:  My parents won't allow me to have a social media account.
