Willow Seixas as Carrie Smartly in Comedy TV Series!

Willow Seixas was recently interviewed by Julien des Pres after being cast in the role of 'Carrie Bella Smartly'.   

J: Tell us about your character in The Smartlys.  

W: My character, Carrie Smartly, is 14 years old and really is the only reasonable and understandable person in her family.  Carrie has a younger sister that she loves teaching...but I'm not saying what she teaches is best!

Carrie LOVES singing and will sing her heart out whenever she can!   Sometimes Carrie is not even sure how she is related to these people in her family so she plans to run away from all these weirdos when the time is right because she definitely doesn't want to be there.   

J: What are 3 things about you we don't know about Willow the person, not the character?  

W: I have always loved singing in real life! I started singing when I was 2 and started performing onstage when I was 5. I am now writing my own songs.   

I am 14 in the show but I'm really only 9 in real life! I guess makeup really changes some things!   I love animals and especially dogs! I have 2 dogs and 2 cats; my dogs are labradoodles and a fun fact about them is they are related to each other although when we got them we didn't know this. My cats are giant MaineCoon cats.   

I also consider my nanny's animals as my own and she has chickens, 2 dogs and a cat. I love picking up the chickens and my moms call me "the chicken whisperer"!   

J: What compelled you to audition for The Smartlys?  

W: I really wanted to audition for the role of Carrie Bella Smartly in The Smartlys because I relate to her in so many ways; she loves singing as I do and sometimes I think my family is weird....we all are, I guess!  Also, I am a pro at the eyeroll she is scripted to do as I roll my eyes at my moms all the time.   

J: Any words of wisdom/advice for other young actors or actresses?  

W: My advice for all actors is to always be who you are inside, no matter what character you are playing...you'll always need that "pop" of you inside for every role you play. 

Never think that you are bad if you didn't get cast because it might have not been the right role for you and instead of thinking about that one role that you didn't get you should think of the other roles that are yet to come!   

The most important advice is to never give up on your dreams.
